THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
:
I.- according to Articles 2 and 3 of the Special Regulatory Issue Document unique Identity, the National Registry of natural persons is the entity that has the authority to issue the single identity document for natural persons, which will be sufficient document to be identified reliably in all public and private act, both within the country and abroad, where such acts take effect in El Salvador.
II.- by Legislative Decree No. 685 dated May 5, 2005, the Special Regulatory Single Issue for Identity Abroad issued, in order to establish special rules for the National Register of Individuals can issue the single identity document abroad.
III.- to facilitate and increase the chances of documented and keep alive their single identity document our compatriots living abroad, it is appropriate to issue reforms that enable them to obtain or update their respective unique identity documents while they are visiting our country.
IV.- That by Legislative Decree No. 302, dated March 11, 2010, was issued to reform Article 4 of the Special Law Regulating the issuance of single identity document for the purpose of extending the term the document issued in El Salvador, under been technically demonstrated time material lasts longer, which means savings for citizens while legal certainty is ensured through periodic renewal, so it is also just set the same time effective for the DUI issued abroad.
THEREFORE,
in exercise of its constitutional powers and initiative of Deputies Norma Guevara, Jackeline Rivera, Cristina Cornejo, and Deputy Rolando Mata.
DECREES THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIAL LAW FOR THE ISSUANCE OF UNIQUE IDENTITY ON THE OUTER
Art. 1. reformed the first paragraph and hereby added two paragraphs to Article 3 as follows:
"The issuance of single identity document abroad for Salvadorans residing outside the country, may be requested at any time and renewal must be made completed the eight years of his term, counted from the date of issue. "

"Salvadorans residing and address outside the country, who are visiting our country, will also get their first single identity document and carry out procedures for renewal, replacement and modification, consigning their corresponding direction on the outside, in the Duicentros located in El Salvador, if they present any document proving their residence abroad. "

Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
