THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
:
I.- control and regulation by the State, in use, manufacture, import, export, trade in firearms, ammunition, explosives and similar articles, emanates from the constitutional mandate under Article 217 of the Constitution of the Republic.
II.- by Legislative Decree No. 655, dated July 1, 1999, published in the Official Gazette No. 139, Volume No. 344 of July 26, 1999, the Act was issued Control and Regulation of Arms of Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Related Articles.
III.- after analyzing the law referred to by the previous paragraph, it was found the need to modify the conformation of the Technical Commission of Evaluation and Control Articles Similar to Explosives in the sense that integrate the Commission technical, Ministries and Institutions that have intimate relationship with the work it performs and who have responsibilities in law and in its special regulation.
Consistent IV.- That the act of the Technical Commission, should be established in the law, in a clear way, that coordination shall be the person holding the position of Director of Logistics of the Ministry of National Defense, and its headquarters will be the Ministry of National Defense.
THEREFORE,
in exercise of its constitutional powers and initiative of Deputies: Juan Carlos Mendoza Portillo, Sigifredo Ochoa Perez, Jose Rafael Machuca Zelaya, Ramon Aristides Valencia Arana, Manuel Rigoberto Soto Lazo, Dario Alejandro Argueta Girls, Lorenzo Rivas Echeverria, Jesus Grande Rafael Antonio Jarquín Larios, Ciro Zepeda Alexis Menjivar, Ronald Rubio and Sergio Rivas Benigno Portillo.
DECREES the following:
REFORM ACT OF CONTROL AND REGULATION OF FIREARMS, AMMUNITION, EXPLOSIVES AND SIMILAR ARTICLES
Art.1.- reformed the first paragraph of Art.56, as follows :

of Justice and Public Security, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Corporation of Municipalities of the Republic of El Salvador. Its headquarters will be the Ministry of National Defense, and coordination correspond to the Director of Logistics of the Ministry. Its organization and operation, as well as the requirements of its members, will be developed in the Special Regulations. "
Art.2.- This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
