DECRECT N° 487

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.- That the League Against Cancer of El Salvador is an apolitical, non-profit association, whose objectives are, among others, to promote the organization of the fight against cancer in the country, acting for itself and in cooperation with official, private, national and international bodies.

II.- That for the attainment of their objectives, they will introduce to the country a cobalt source that will be used in the practice of telecobalttherapy at the facilities of the El Salvador Cancer Institute “Dr. Narcissus Díaz Bazán”.

III.- That in order to contribute to such a noble cause that the League Against Cancer of El Salvador does, and in accordance with the powers conferred upon it by the Constitution of the Republic, it is appropriate to exempt from the payment of taxes, including wine cellar, which may cause the introduction to the country of the source referred to in the previous consideration.

in the use of their constitutional powers and at the initiative of the representatives Lorena Guadalupe Peña Mendoza, Carmen Elena Calderón de Escalón, Sandra Marlene Salgado García e Irma Lourdes Palacios Vásquez, and of the representatives Guillermo Antonio Gallegos Navarrete, Francisco Roberto Lorenzana Durán, Roberto José d ́Aubuisson Munguía, José Rafael Machuca Zelaya and Reynaldo Antonio López Cardo

RIGHT:

Art. 1.- Exonerate the League Against Cancer of El Salvador, from the payment of taxes, including wine cellar, which can cause the introduction to the country of a cobalt source of the following characteristics: Gamma Source of 191 Rmm ICRU or 219 Rmm ECR; nucleide radio: cobalt 60; font size: 2 cm. in diameter.

The waiver granted is without prejudice to the monitoring and control to be exercised by the respective tax agencies.

Art. 2.- This Decree shall enter into force from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
