1 Decree No. 506 the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of EL SALVADOR, considering: I.-which in accordance with article 131, paragraph 22 of the Constitution of the Republic, is Faculty of this organ of State grant to individuals or populations, titles, honorary distinctions and gratuities consistent with the form of Government established by relevant services to the homeland.
II.-that article 6, literal c) honorary distinctions, rewards and titles Act, establishes that the honorary distinctions of remarkable and distinguished or accomplished, in their order of importance, may be granted to Salvadoran people and foreign residents, when services or contributions that have been given to the homeland, is related to the dissemination and use of science art, culture, education and sport or any other form of altruistic or collective service; such a way, that represents an undeniable benefit for the Salvadoran Government or its inhabitants.
III.-that the poet Claribel Alegría, originally from Esteli, Nicaragua, daughter of Salvadoran mother, has in El Salvador their adoptive homeland, since he lived from the age of one year in Santa Ana, through his childhood and early youth in our country until it ended with their secondary studies, time in which began one of the greatest adventures in the United States of America where he studied at Loyola University, New Orleans, and later at George Washington University, where successfully completed his studies in philosophy and literature.
IV.-that the poet Claribel Alegría, from a young age showed his skills as a writer of many facets, with a sensitive creative sensibility that is in its highest expression, that so simple and sober, recreates the eternal problem of the human being about love, death, longing and hope, his literary creation goes beyond the word and meet with poetic flow more vital and expressive of Latin America had.
V under the aforementioned merits, it is coming to the honorable distinction of "NOTABLE poet and distinguished teacher", giving the artist Claribel Alegría, in recognition of its invaluable literary contribution, which has contributed to the enrichment of the artistic and poetic heritage of El Salvador, encouraging the reading of new generations, and promoting culture at the national level.
Therefore, use of his constitutional powers and at the initiative of the deputies and members: Othon Sigfrido Reyes Morales, Francisco Roberto Lorenzana Durán, Lorena Guadalupe Peña Mendoza, Sandra Marlene Salgado García, José Rafael Machuca Zelaya, Irma Lourdes Palacios Vásquez, Damian Alegria, 2 Carlos Cortez Hernandez, Blanca Noemi Coto Estrada, Rosa Alma Cruz Marinero, Antonio Echeverría Veliz, Jesús Flores de Juan Manuel Cornejo , Standard Fidelia Ramirios Guevara, Benito Antonio Lara Fernández, Kleutgens Audelia Guadalupe Lopez, Rodolfo Antonio Martínez, Guillermo Francisco Mata Bennett, Oscar Ernesto Novoa Ayala, Mr. Orestes Fredesmán Ortez Andrade, Karina Ivette Sosa Lara and Ramon Aristides Valencia Arana.
DECREES: Article 1.-declare the artist Claribel Alegría, "NOTABLE poet and distinguished teacher", in recognition of its invaluable literary contribution, which has contributed to the enrichment of the artistic and poetic heritage of El Salvador, stimulating the reading of new generations, and promoting culture at the national level.
Article 2.-this Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the official journal.
