DECREE No. 514 THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
I. That pursuant to Article 3 of the Constitution of the Republic, all persons they are equal before the law. For the enjoyment of civil rights, no restrictions based on differences of nationality, race or religion may be established.
II.- according to Article 25 of the Constitution, the State guarantees the free exercise of all religions, without limitation than the requirements for morality and public order.
III.- according to historical data the beginnings of the evangelical church date back to 1886, when the country reached the first missionaries, as Samuel Purdie, who is considered the pioneer and founder of what today it is known as an evangelical church in all denominations that exist nationwide.
IV.- That according to research conducted nationwide in December 2009 by the Central American University Jose Simeon Cañas (UCA) 38% of the Salvadoran population professes the evangelical and according to the same religion, it is expected that by the year 2013 this percentage increased to 45%, and this is because the evangelical church, enjoys trust and credibility by the population because their contributions have not only limited to religion but also to political, economic and especially social.

Art. 1. declare 31 October each year as "National Day of SALVADOREÑA EVANGELICAL CHURCH". (1)
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
