1. Decree No. 707, the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of EL SALVADOR: I.-that in accordance with the provisions of paragraph of article 248 of the Constitution, the Legislative Assembly of the previous period, dated April 25, the year 2012, the first has agreed to add a paragraph to article 63 of our Magna Carta, emitting thus corresponding constitutional reform agreement which was published in the official newspaper Nº 84, volume no. 395, dated 9 May of the same year.
II.-that in addition, article 248 Cn. in its second paragraph, sets, which so that such reform can enact must be ratified by the next legislature with the vote of two-thirds of the elected deputies.
III. having complied with the requirements established by the same Constitution for modification, is coming to ratify the reform to article 63, in the sense that El Salvador recognizes indigenous peoples and adopt policies in order to maintain and develop their ethnic and cultural identity, worldview, values and spirituality.
Therefore, in use of their faculties constitutional and having is given compliance to it provisions in the article 248 of the Constitution DECREED, sanctions and PROMULGATES it reform constitutional following: Art. 1.-ratify is the incorporation of a subsection to the Art. 63 of the Constitution, contained in the agreement of reform constitutional No. 5, of date 25 of April of the 2012, published in the daily official No. 84 I take no. 395, of de fecha date 9 May of the same year, as well: "El Salvador recognizes indigenous peoples and adopt policies in order to maintain and develop their ethnic and cultural identity, worldview, values and spirituality."
Article 2.-this Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the official journal.
