1 DECREE No. 778
THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
I.- by Legislative Decree No. 53, dated July 24, 1997, published in the Official Journal No. 143, Volume No. 336 of August 7 of the same year, was issued
Law Privatization of the National Telecommunications Administration.
II.- Art. 47 of the aforementioned Act states that a Commission
Liquidator of Real Remnants of ANTEL, for the liquidation of the assets, rights and obligations of the institution that would be appointed, among other duties, pay them compensation of twenty-five thousand colones each
of former employees of that institution, for all the benefits it gave its retirees.
III.- by technical errors were left out of the benefit to 35 former employees of the defunct National Telecommunications Administration (ANTEL), interposing some of these former workers demands to the Attorney for the Defense of Human Rights, by considering that they had violated
IV.- That the Attorney for the Defense of Human Rights, issued
resolutions established that fundamental rights of these workers were violated, having issued the institution, resolutions recommended compensate those rights by legal mechanisms as it is
V.- that the budget approved for the current fiscal year, was assigned to the share
Ministry of Finance, the amount of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (US $ 100,000), in order to grant the amount of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND
14/100 DOLLARS oF tHE UNITED STATES oF AMERICA (US $ 2,857.14), each of the 35 former employees of the defunct National Telecommunications Administration (ANTEL).
VI.- The Ministry of Finance considers necessary additional legal provisions are issued, to provide it comply with the provisions of the Budget Law for Fiscal Year
in use of its constitutional powers and initiative of Deputies Lorena Guadalupe Peña Mendoza, Mariela Peña Pinto, Norma Fidelia Guevara Ramirios, Carmen Elena Calderón de Escalón, Marta Evelyn Batres, and deputies Jose Francisco Merino Lopez, Rolando Mata Fuentes, Guillermo | ||
Antonio Gallegos Navarrete, Carlos Guzman Walter Coto, Mario Antonio Lopez Ponce, Rodolfo Antonio Parker Soto and Douglas Leonardo Mejia Aviles. DECREES
Art. 1. The Ministry of Finance shall make payment of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND 14/100 DOLLARS (US $ 2,857.14) in compensation to each of 35 former employees of the defunct National Telecommunications Administration (ANTEL) in the list which is annexed
Art. 2. The resources to finance the provisions of the previous article shall be taken from the Budget Unit 22
Support to other entities, Working Line 01 Grants Several of Finance Branch, resources that are already considered in the budget of this Fiscal year for that purpose; also is empowered the Ministry of Finance to issue regulations
required for compliance with the provisions of this Decree.
Art. 3. This Decree shall enter into force from the day of its publication in the Official Journal.
