1 agreement of reform constitutional N ° 3 the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of EL SALVADOR, considering: I.-that in accordance with the provisions of the articles 124 and 202 of the Constitution of the Republic, deputies and members of the Legislative Assembly and members of the municipal councils, are elected for a period of three years.

III. taking into account that an important feature of the definition of the political system in our Constitution is its pluralistic character, is considered convenient to match periods of functions of the members of municipal councils and the Legislative Assembly, with the presidential term, avoiding the simultaneous elections.
IV.-before-related circumstances returning urgent reform to the relevant articles of the Constitution, in order to extend the period for which must be elected members and members of the Legislative Assembly and municipal councils, thus achieving a reduction in costs which the State allocates to the field of organization of elections and political debt.
V that in order to separate the presidential elections of legislative and municipal elections, should be adjusted temporarily period features members and members as well as members of municipal councils to be taken possession of their posts the first of May two thousand eighteen year.

Article 3.-transitory provision.
