DECREE NO 9

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That in accordance with Article 131, Ordinal 22 ° of the Constitution of the

Republic, it is the faculty of this State Authority to grant to persons or populations, titles, honorary distinctions and gratifications compatible with the form of government established, for relevant services provided to the Homeland.

II.-That article 6, literal c) of the Law of Honorific Distances, Gratitude and Titles, states that the honorable and Distinguished distinctions of Notable and Distinguished or

Distinguished, in their order of relevance, may be awarded to Salvadoran or foreign residents, when the services or contributions that have been provided to the Homeland, are related to the dissemination and exploitation of science,

art, culture, education and sport or any other another form of altruistic or collective service; in such a way that it represents an undeniable benefit to the Salvadoran State or its inhabitants.

III.-That Mr. Rolando Alirio Mena, born on October 2, 1945, in Cojutepeque, Department of Cuscatlán, is a professional of empirical and self-taught sports journalism, which has been highlighted by his radio work,

as an international correspondent, in the written and other media; whose brilliant trajectory has made him deserving of the recognition and respect of his colleagues, which are materialized through the various stimuli who has received.

IV.-That said professional, has worked tirelessly for promote the development of the media in San Miguel and the east of the country,

acquiring a radio experience of more than 46 years, directing this effort to campaigns for social works, both national and

V.-That in the present month of May, the "485 Anniversary of the Foundation of the City of San Miguel" is commemorated, so that, in order to give it enhancement

to the activities that are being carried out in this framework, We consider it important to donate to one of his distinguished children, which both service and honor have provided to the Municipality.

VI.-That by virtue of the merits mentioned above, it is appropriate to grant the journalist Rolando Alirio Mena, the Honorific Distinction of " NOTABLE

SALVADOR, in recognition of his outstanding work for promote the development of the media in San Miguel and the east of the country.

DECRETA:

Art. 1.-Declare journalist Rolando Alirio Mena, "NOTABLE COMMUNICATOR OF EL SALVADOR", in recognition of his outstanding work to promote the development of the media in

San Miguel and the east of the country.

Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal

.
