DECREE NO 84

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That in accordance with Article 131, Ordinary to the 22nd of the Constitution of the

Republic, it is the faculty of this State Body, to grant to persons or populations, titles, honorary distinctions and gratifications, compatible with the form of government established, for relevant services provided to the Homeland.

II.-That Article 6, literal c) of the Law of Honorific Distances, Gratitude and Titles, establishes that the honorable and distinguished distinctions of Notable and Distinguished or

Distinguished, in their order of relevance, may be granted to Salvadoran or foreign residents, when the services or contributions that have been provided to the Homeland, are related to the dissemination and exploitation of science,

art, culture, education and sport or any other another form of altruistic or collective service; in such a way that it represents an undeniable benefit for the Salvadoran State or its inhabitants.

III.-That Mr. Elmer Ángel Acevedo Aguilar, currently of sixty-six years of age, teacher, of the Municipality of Acajutla, Department of Sonsonate, is a sportsman who has put up the name of El Salvador, as a member of

the National Football Team, where with effort defended the blue and white colors, in the qualifying qualifiers with whose pass they would become the only national team that has attended to an Olympics, this being the one of

Mexico 1968.

IV.-That Mr. Elmer Ángel Acevedo Aguilar also managed to harvest several

triumphs and stand out in this sport of high performance, integrating the Selections that participated in the qualifiers with Honduras and Haiti To first classify and attend a World Cup which was held in Mexico,

in the year of 1970.

V.-That later and by medical prescription, Mr. Elmer Angel Acevedo

Aguilar had to retire from football, to dedicate himself to his career as a teacher, being as well as graduating from Master in Basic Education and began to exercise his profession, currently serving as a second-cycle teacher at

the "Barrio El Campamento Fe y Alegria" School Center, of the Municipality of Acajutla, Department of Sonsonate.

VI.- To grant the Honorific Distinction of "DISTINGUISHED SPORTSMAN OF EL SALVADOR", to Mr. Elmer Angel Acevedo Aguilar for his invaluable contributions to national sport.
