1. Decree No. 92, the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of EL SALVADOR: I.-that in accordance with rule 131, 11 ° Ordinal of the Constitution, is Faculty of this legislature enact, in General, benefits and tax incentives or of any nature, for the promotion of cultural, scientific, agricultural, industrial, or other.
II.-that the gastronomy is a cultural element that describes the identity of the inhabitants of a region or country, which is generated in the ancestral roots and which must be enhanced, recreated and disseminated by way of safeguard such identity, since it acts as a mirror where foreigners recognize the members of a society, but also that society recognizes itself in its own cultural elements symbolically recreating peoples in its flavors, textures and cooking smells.
III.-that the cuisine is highly linked to food and the journey from the place where it originates during which activate various industries and sectors such as agriculture, transport, processors of food packaging companies in food, markets, shops and restaurants, generating sources of direct and indirect jobs.
IV.-that the gastronomy is an important hub to level tourist, attractive to foreigners who want to know the country through its flavours, scents and traditions, there is the route of coffee in coffee centres within the territory as Apaneca - Llamatepec; Route the Jocote, San Lorenzo, Ahuachapán; and route the Marañón, Tecoluca, San Vicente; and gastronomic festivals in the municipalities which are under the programme "People alive", as: Juayua; Handle in Zacatecoluca Festival; Festival of the Loroco and the Jocote in San Lorenzo, Ahuachapán; Festival of the brown sugar and sweet potatoes, in San Lorenzo, San Vicente; and Festival of the Pupusa in Olocuilta, among others.
V-that despite the rampant acculturation, is underway in an effort to preserve and disseminate the gastronomic identity through different expressions such as: day of the cross, Atoladas, the Calabiuza and the procession of palms, so it is appropriate to declare October 13 each year, "National day of the cuisine of El Salvador".

Decree: Article 1.-declare October 13 each year, "National day of the cuisine of El Salvador".
Article 2.-this Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the official journal.
