DECREE NO 220
THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,
CONSIDERING:
I.-That Article 33 of the Constitution of the Republic states that " The Law shall regulate the personal and property relations of the spouses to each other and between
them and their children, establishing the rights and duties reciprocal on a level playing field; and it will create the necessary institutions to ensure its applicability ... ".
II.-That by Legislative Decree No. 1030, dated twenty-six April 1997, published in Official Journal No. 105, Volume N ° 335, dated June 10,
same year, the" Criminal Code " was issued.
III.-That by Legislative Decree No. 520, dated November 25, 2010,
published in Official Journal No. 2, Volume N ° 390, dated January 4, 2011, the " Comprehensive Special Law for a Free Life of Violence for the Women. "
IV.-That by Legislative Decree No. 645, dated March 17, 2011, published in Official Journal No. 70, Volume No. 391, dated April 8, 2011, the " Law of Equality, Equity and Eradication of Discrimination Against the
Women. "
V.-That in order to make a life free of violence and discrimination effective
for women in the family, and to eradicate economic violence against women, it is appropriate to carry out reforms to the Penal Code, approved by Legislative Decree No. 1030, dated twenty-six April 1997, published in
Official Journal No. 105, Volume N ° 335, dated June 10 of the same year.

DECCRETA, the following:
CRIMINAL CODE REFORMS
Art. 1.-Reform of Art. 201 as follows:
" Failure to comply with Economic Assistance Duties
Art. 201.-Any person subject to the payment of provisional or definitive food decreed by the Judicial Authority, resolution of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, or agreement concluded with this
or outside it, which deliberately If you fail to comply, you will be sentenced to one to three years in prison or its equivalent in public utility work.
Yes to avoid compliance with the food obligation by ruse, or any other means
of cheating or surprising the good faith, I will hide their assets, I will enajenare, acquire credits, move to the interior of the Republic or abroad without leaving legal representative or goods in sufficient quantities to respond to the payment of the food obligation, or I will carry out any other act to the detriment of the right

the Republic. "
Art. 2.-Create Art. 201-A as follows:
" Non-compliance with the Payment of the Compensatory Pension
Art. 201-A.-Every person subject to payment of a compensatory pension issued by the Judicial Authority, who deliberately fails to comply will be sanctioned from ninety to one hundred and fifty days fine.

Art. 3.-Reform Art. 338-A as follows:
" Disobedience in the case of Precautionary or Protective Measures
Art. 338-A.-The one who disobeyed an order or precautionary measure or protection dictated by competent authority in application to the Special Law for a Free Life of Violence for the
Women, the Law Against Domestic Violence or other criminal figures of this Code, shall be punished with imprisonment of one to three years or its equivalent in public utility work. "
Art. 4.-This Decree will enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
