DECREE NO 292

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That pursuant to Article 131 Ordinary of the Constitution, it is for the Legislative Assembly to grant to persons or populations, titles, honorary distinctions and gratifications compatible with the form of government established.

II.-That the Municipality of Sacacoyo, Department of La Freedom, at present has achieved remarkable progress, because it has the necessary public and private services for the welfare and development of its inhabitants; thus fulfilling the requirements laid down in the Law of Distinction Honorific, Gratitude and Titles, to raise their current category to that of City.

III.-That for the reasons above, the Municipality of Sacacoyo, Department of Freedom, meets the conditions to grant the City.

DECCRETA:

Art. 1.-Grant the City Title to the population of Sacacoyo, Department of Freedom.

Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
