1 DECREE No. 313
THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
I.- The Constitution states that El Salvador recognizes the human person as the origin and purpose of state activity, which is organized for the
attainment of justice, legal security and the common good as well as the right to life, physical and moral integrity, liberty, security, to work, to own property, and to be protected in the preservation and defense
II.- by Legislative Decree No. 1030, dated April 26, 1997, published in the Official Journal

III.- That sport in general plays an important role in the integration of positive values in society; however, it has been punctuated by the actions of national and international networks of organized crime in buying professional sporting events at the expense of undermining the institutions and values
ethics, justice and democracy.
IV.- That the sporting fraud alert not only the integrity of
sports results and trust of viewers, but also makes it against the purity of the test results and sporting events, heritage spectators, sponsors and public bodies that
invest for their promotion and development.
V.- That our criminal law currently does not provide any definition that
configure the deliberate and fraudulent alteration of results, meetings or professional sporting events, making it necessary to incorporate as a crime figure Deportivo Fraud Code Penal.

DECREES the following:
Reform Criminal Code Article 1. Article 218 following should be incorporated one-A, as follows: Deportivo Fraud
Art. 218-A.- Anyone who personally or by force or third person to offer, promise, pay or rewarded with any kind of benefit, in order to alter or ensure a predetermined result of a competition or sporting event
professional, national or international, or abnormal performance of a participant in it, shall be punished with imprisonment from two to four years and disqualification for the same period.
The same penalty shall incur which itself or through a third party, requests or receives a payment or benefit in order to deliberately and fraudulently altering a result
competence or professional sporting event.
The sanction will be aggravated by imprisonment of three to five years when the offense is committed by
official, leader, director, manager, coach, umpire, referee or judge, promoter or employee of a club or sports organization of any legal nature and disqualification for the same period.
Who representing the country as a national team, individually or collectively,
incurred in the aforementioned conduct, shall be punished with imprisonment from four to six years and disqualification for the same period.
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
