DECREE NO 293
THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,
CONSIDERING:
I.-That by Legislative Decree No. 477 dated October 19, 1995, published in Official Journal No. 212, Volume No. 329 of November 16 of that
same year, the Land Transportation, Transit and Road Safety.
II.-That by Legislative Decree No 1188, dated March 5, 2003,
published in Official Journal No 49, Volume N ° 358; of the 13th of the same month and year, reforms were passed to the said normative body, with the object of expressly establishing the infractions, the sanctioning procedure to follow for their
taxation and corresponding resources.
III.-That at present, a whole series of behaviors have been identified that
constitute factors that aggravate the complicated traffic situation at the national level, especially in the San Salvador metropolitan area, due to the extreme concentration of vehicles in the area.
IV.-That the different Directorates-General of the Vice-Ministry of Transport, in the face of the traffic problems in the area concerned, have issued certain resolutions by which the circulation of a certain type of
is restrictedautomotive vehicles, such as those engaged in freight transport.
V.-That the failure to comply with the relevant resolutions by the
drivers of transport in general is not regulated or typified as In the case of traffic offences, the majority of drivers are not in favour of such decisions.
VI.-That by virtue of the above, it becomes necessary to reform the Law before alluded, raising to the category of traffic infraction, the fact of disobeying the
resolutions that emit any of the transit authorities

in use of its Constitutional powers and at the initiative of the Deputies: Santiago Flores Alfaro, Norma Fidelia Guevara de Ramírios, Sonia Margarita Rodríguez Siguenza, Rosa Alma Cruz Marinero, Jaime
Orlando Sandoval, Dina Yamileth Argueta Avelar, Roger Alberto Blandino Nerio, Rolando Mata Fuentes, Crissia Suhan Chavez Garcia and Zoila Beatriz Quijada Solis.

Art. 1.-Reform Art. 117 in the sense of incorporating a 74-A violation like this:

Art. 2.-Reform of Art. 119-I, in order to add the infringement 29 to the table of fines of Transport of Cargo for infractions, thus:

Art. 3.-Reform the tenth second indent of Art. 118, in the sense of adding to it the letter f, as follows:
" f) Reoffending in the commission of the regulated infraction in the N ° 74-A of article 117, or in the
commission of the regulated infraction in the Article 119-I, which must be understood as such, the fact that the same vehicle has been identified circulating in the restricted areas for more than one occasion, regardless of whether the sanctions are
impose on different drivers. "
Art. 4.-This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal
