Ordinance on the remuneration and pension, etc. for the Danish members of the European Parliament

Under section 4 of the Act on salaries and pensions, etc. for the Danish members of the European Parliament, in accordance with article 3. lovbekendtgørelse nr. 255 of 19. March 2004, lays down the following:

§ 1. From the time of entry into force of the Statute for members of the European Parliament, in accordance with article 3. Decision of the European Parliament of 28. September 2005 (2005/684/EC, Euratom), § 1 of the law on remuneration and pension, etc. for the Danish members of the European Parliament only effect for the members that, pursuant to article 25 of the Statute have chosen to be covered by the current national system throughout the mandate period.

§ 2. From the time of entry into force of the Statute for members of the European Parliament have section 2 of the Act on salaries and pensions, etc. for the Danish members of the European Parliament only effect for the members that, pursuant to article 25 of the Statute have chosen to be covered by the current national system throughout the mandate period, and for members who resign in the elections to the European Parliament in 2009, and which in this context are entitled to after consideration.

§ 3. From the time of entry into force of the Statute for members of the European Parliament have § 3 of the law on salaries and pensions, etc. for the Danish members of the European Parliament only effect for pension rights earned up until the moment of the entry into force of the Statute, and for pension rights earned by members pursuant to article 25 of the Statute have chosen to be covered by the current national system throughout the mandate period.

§ 4. The Minister of finance may enter into agreement with the European Parliament on the application of accrued pension rights from the Danish Government to the European Parliament, in accordance with article 3. Article 28, paragraph 2, of the Statute for members of the European Parliament.

§ 5. The notice shall enter into force on 14 July. July 2009, which is the first day of the parliamentary term of the European Parliament, beginning in 2009.
