Announcement of law on preventive home visits to the elderly, etc.

Hereby promulgated law on preventive home visits to the elderly, etc., see. Act No. 1117 of 20. December 1995, with the changes imposed by § 1 of lov nr. 299 of 27. April 2005, section 12 of Act No. 1584 by 20. December 2006 and § 1 lov nr. 435 of 29. May 2008.

§ 1. The Municipal Council must offer preventive home visits to all citizens over the age of 75 years and who lives in the municipality.

(2). The Municipal Council shall organise the visits as needed. The citizen has the right to always offer at least two annual preventive home visits.

(3). The Municipal Council may choose to exempt citizens from the scheme, which receives both personal and practical assistance pursuant to section 83 of the Act on social services.

§ 2. The Interior and the Minister of Social Affairs in cooperation with the Health Minister may lay down rules on the municipal obligations under this law, including those relating to coordination with other general municipal preventive and activating measures.

§ 3. The law shall enter into force on the 1. July 1996.

(2). In the period up to 1. July 1998, however, the Municipal Council only obliged to offer home visits for all at 80 years of age and older.

§ 4. The law does not apply to the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

The law shall enter into force on the 1. May 2005.

Act No. 435 of 29. May 2008 contains the following entry-into-force provision. (The amendment relates to section 2 of the Act No. 299 of 87. april 2005. The amendment concerns the abolition of the audit provision.)



§ 2

The law shall enter into force on the 1. July 2008.
