on the agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government
The German Democratic Republic on joint control of the Government
borders
16 December 2002. February 1973 in Berlin was the agreement signed between the Government of
The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the German Democratic
States on the common control of borders.
According to article 12 of the Agreement entered into force on 3 December 2005. July
1973.
The Czech version of the agreement shall be published at the same time.

The AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the German
the Democratic Republic of the common control of borders
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the German
Democratic Republic, desiring to extend and deepen the cooperation
in the area of joint controls at national borders, on the basis of the Treaty
between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the German Democratic
Republic on cooperation in the field of transport and the immigration, customs and other
inspection at the border crossing of 21. December 1970, have decided to
to conclude this agreement.
To this end, have designated as their agents

Article 1

Article 2
(1) the control authorities of the Parties shall carry out joint control in the

Article 3

Article 4

Article 5
(1) the competent authorities of the Contracting Parties creates the necessary on their territory

joint control, shall provide the supervisory authorities of the other party
the necessary facilities with the necessary internal equipment, maintenance

Article 6
Transport authorities of the Contracting Party in whose territory the implementation of joint
review, shall provide the members of the supervisory bodies for the implementation of
joint control of free shipping. At the same time make available

Article 7
The inspecting authorities shall inform in due time the expected number of persons
connecting the State border, as well as the other relevant circumstances,
that affect the implementation of the common controls.
Article 8
Transport authorities shall, in agreement with the supervisory authorities of their contractual
the parties the necessary international transport from the internal construction and transport
everywhere where joint control is carried out.
Article 9
In the case of illness or accident a national inspection authorities in the territory of
the other party shall provide the authorities of that Contracting Party to him free of charge
medical care.
Article 10
(1) the provisions of articles 5, 6 and 9 shall apply to the bodies and employees
the contracting parties who, in connection with the processing of people, goods and
means of transport connecting national border operate
in places and areas referred to in article 2 (1) and who are not
control bodies within the meaning of article 1.
(2) the Contracting Parties shall determine the responsible worker who directs the authorities
referred to in article 1, paragraph 1 and in article 10, paragraph 1.
Article 11
The relevant central authorities may arrange for the necessary arrangements for the implementation of
of this agreement.
Article 12
(1) the agreement is subject to approval in accordance with the constitutional rules of the Contracting Parties and
shall enter into force on the date of exchange of notes about this approval.
(2) the agreement is concluded for a period of five years. Notice if one of the Contracting
the parties to the agreement at the latest one year before the expiry of that period, it shall remain in
always valid for another five years. The date of expiry of the contract between the
