a friendship and cooperation treaty between the Czechoslovak Socialist
the Republic of Yemen Arab Republic
On 2 February 2005. April 1964 in Prague was signed the Treaty of friendship and
cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Yemen
Arab Republic of Egypt.
With the Treaty, expressed its consent, the National Assembly and the president of the Republic
It has ratified. The instruments of ratification were exchanged in Saná 27 June September
1966.
According to article 9 of the Agreement entered into force on 27. September 1966.
The Czech version of the Treaty shall be designated at the same time.

The President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the president of the Yemen Arab

Considering the traditional links of friendship between the people of both countries
expressed also in the treaties of friendship concluded between Czechoslovakia
and Yemen on 16. August 1938 and April 5. July 1956
guided by the desire to make in mutual relations between the two countries
the objectives and principles of the Charter of the United Nations
Desiring to further develop these relationships and deepen the all-round
cooperation and mutual assistance between the two countries based on respect for
State sovereignty, non-interference in the internal affairs,
equality and mutual benefits
Affirming loyalty to the principles of peaceful coexistence, mutually recognizing the benefits
of the two countries to strengthening, developing and applying these principles and the
being committed to further contribute to détente,
the final liquidation of colonialism in all its forms and manifestations,
removing obstacles to peaceful coexistence among the States, creating a climate
trust between them and the development of versatile international co-operation
convinced that effectively contribute to ensuring the happiness and
the well-being of the people of both countries
have decided to conclude this Treaty on friendship and cooperation:
Article 1
The Contracting Parties undertake to develop their relations on the basis of mutual
the recognition of and respect for the territorial integrity and political independence.
Czechoslovak Socialist Republic confirms its recognition
the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen on the Yemen area.
Article 2
Between Czechoslovakia and Yemen will be eternal peace and friendship.
The Contracting Parties undertake that any and all disputes, which between them could
arise, will be resolved by negotiation and other peaceful means in
accordance with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

This agreement shall be ratified and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of

This agreement shall remain in force for ten years and its validity will be

in writing denounces it six months before the expiry of its validity.
Done in Prague on 2. April 1964 in two copies, each in the language
Czech and Arabic languages, both texts being equally authentic.
