on the agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government

Somali Democratic Republic on scientific and technological cooperation



On 31 December 2004. October 1976 in Mogadishu was the agreement signed between the Government of

The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Somali Democratic

Republic on scientific and technological cooperation. Agreement entered into force

in accordance with its article 10, on the day of 20. June 1977.



Czech translation of the text of the agreement shall be published at the same time.

The AGREEMENT



between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Somali

Democratic Republic on scientific and technological cooperation



The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Somali

Democratic Republic, desiring to promote the further development of the mutual

Scientific and technological cooperation in the interest of strengthening friendly relations and

the strengthening of economic relations between the two countries, have agreed as follows:



Article 1



The Contracting Parties shall cooperate in the field of science and technology,

taking into account the order of the use of the latest science and

techniques for the economic development of both countries.



Article 2



The cooperation referred to in article 1 of this Agreement shall include in particular:



1. provision of the services of experts for advice and assistance in all matters

relating to science and technology;



2. the Organization of theoretical and practical training of nationals

both of the parties.



Article 3



The scope of and conditions for scientific and technical cooperation, including the amount and the method of

remuneration will be agreed upon between the competent Czechoslovak

organizations that have the appropriate permissions, and authorized

Somali organisations.



Article 4



Each Contracting Party shall in its territory to provide citizens

the other party all reachable resources necessary to

the successful fulfilment of their tasks, which have to be carried out in accordance with this

the agreement.



Article 5



The two Contracting Parties shall endeavour to ensure that any experts

the contracting party carrying out the obligations under this agreement in the territory of the other

the Contracting Parties, benefit from the same treatment as is accorded to experts

any third country.



Article 6



All persons carrying out their duties on the territory of the other Contracting Party,

under this agreement, will be governed in its activities, the terms of the

established for the performance of their duties and shall refrain from any interference in the

other matters.



Article 7



Each Contracting Party undertakes that specific knowledge gained within the

cooperation under this Agreement shall not divulge to third parties without the consent of the other

the Contracting Parties.



Article 8



The provisions of this Agreement shall not apply to experts, technicians,

officials and other persons performing their duties on the territory of one of

the Contracting Parties according to individual contracts, which are subject to

the delivery of goods or the provision of services.



Article 9



The Contracting Parties shall, at the express request of any of them to advise on the

all matters relating to the implementation of this agreement.



Article 10



This agreement is subject to approval and shall enter into force on the date of

Exchange of notes confirming that it has been approved in accordance with the legislation of the

each of the Contracting Parties; the agreement will be provisionally applied as from the date of its

the signature.



The agreement will be valid for a period of five years; its validity will be automatically

extended by one additional year if one of the Contracting Parties

do not communicate in writing of its intention to terminate the agreement, three months before the

the end of its validity.



The date on which this agreement enters into force, the agreement shall cease to apply on the

Scientific and technological cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist

Republic and the Somali Democratic Republic, signed at Prague on

June 4, 1961.



Agreed in Mogadishu on 31 December 2004. October 1976, in two original copies

in the English language.
