The COMMUNICATION FROM the



Ministry of Foreign Affairs



Ministry of Foreign Affairs declares that on 11 July. October 1996

Prague agreement signed between the Government of the United Kingdom and the Government of India

Republic on cooperation in the field of culture, education and science.



Agreement entered into force on the basis of its article 5 on 29 April 2006. July

1997. That day shall lapse in the relations between the Czech Republic and

The Republic of India, the agreement between the Czechoslovak Republic and India

Republic on cultural cooperation of 7 November. July 1959, well known under the

No 61/1960 Coll.



The Czech version of the agreement shall be published at the same time. In the English text of the agreement,

The AGREEMENT



between the Government of the United Kingdom and the Government of the Republic of India on cooperation in the

The Government of the United Kingdom and the Government of the Republic of India (hereinafter referred to as "the Contracting

have agreed as follows:



Article 1



The Contracting Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of culture, the arts,

the care of cultural monuments, education, science, sport and tourism.



Article 2



The Contracting Parties shall promote mutual cultural exchanges and cooperation

and within its capabilities, to assist the development of the direct relations between the

Educational, scientific, research, cultural and sports

institutions of both States.



Article 3



The Contracting Parties shall encourage the adoption of the citizens of the other State to

the study, lecture, scientific and research stays in their

Educational, cultural and scientific institutions, in accordance with the laws

regulations of the State of the sending and the receiving Contracting Party.



Article 4



For the purpose of implementing this agreement, the parties may negotiate programs

cooperation on specific time periods that include organizational and

financial terms of the collaboration.



Article 5



This agreement is subject to approval in accordance with national laws

the legislation of both Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the exchange of notes of
