on the agreement on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist

the Republic and the Government of Malta



Day 10. September 1979 in Prague signed the agreement on cultural cooperation

between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of Malta

of the Republic. Agreement entered into force, pursuant to article 12 of the day

January 2, 1980.



The Czech version of the agreement shall be published at the same time.

The AGREEMENT



on cultural cooperation



between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of Malta

of the Republic of



The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Malta,



Desiring to strengthen the friendly relations and understanding between the two countries and the

develop and support in the spirit of the final act of the Conference on security

and cooperation in Europe mutual cooperation in the fields of culture, education,

Science, sport and tourism,



have agreed as follows:



Article 1



The Contracting Parties shall develop cooperation in the fields of science, education,

culture, art, education, mass media, film,

Sport, tourism and between scientific institutes, as well as social and

youth organisations.



Article 2



The Contracting Parties shall encourage cooperation and the exchange of information and

of experience between cultural and scientific institutes, educational and

art organizations of their countries, and in particular:

(b) the organisation of various art exhibitions) on the territory of the Contracting Parties, for example.

e) in exchange of books and other publications from the field of culture, for example. about

painting, graphics, sculpture, as well as from the field of social sciences and

art,



f) exchange of information on life, natural conditions and historical

the sights of their countries in order to disseminate objective information in the textbooks,

image publications and scientific works published in the language

the English,



g) in exchange of information and statistical material from the field of education,

cultural activities among young people, in particular, workers, and materials about their

contribution to cultural life and the national heritage



h) umožňováním exchanges of experts from the field of culture, archaeology and

printing industry,



I) umožňováním exchanges and marketing art, documentary and educational

films on a commercial and non-commercial basis, and by participating in international

film festivals, held in the territory of the other party.



Article 3



The Contracting Parties shall encourage the learning of languages, culture, literature,

history, geography and art.



Article 4



The Contracting Parties shall, in accordance with their capabilities to provide reciprocal

scholarships to students and postgraduantům to study at universities and

other educational establishments.



Article 5



The Contracting Parties shall examine options to ensure studies performed,

composite tests and diplomas obtained in the territory of one Contracting Party

partial or full force also in the territory of the other Contracting Party.

If they consider it necessary, have concluded a specific agreement about it.



Article 6



The Contracting Parties shall, in accordance with the regulations in their countries allow

access to archives and libraries.



Article 7



The Contracting Parties shall allow for the participation of the representatives of the other party

on scientific congresses, conferences of archaeologists and historians,

folkloristic festivals and other events with international participation

held in their territory.



Article 8



The Contracting Parties shall promote cooperation and exchanges between the print

agencies, radio and television organizations of their countries on the

commercial and non-commercial basis, in particular in the field of shows and television

films for children, documentaries, literary and music programmes.



Article 9



The Contracting Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of sport, tourism

and between youth organisations.



Article 10



The Contracting Parties shall promote coordination between their national

commissions for cooperation with UNESCO, as well as the exchange of materials.



Article 11



The Contracting Parties shall agree to implement this agreement at certain periods

cooperation programmes, which will include specifically the agreed actions,

as well as the financial and organisational conditions.



Article 12



This agreement is subject to approval by the national rules of the Contracting

Parties and shall enter into force on the date of exchange of notes about this approval.



This agreement is concluded for a period of five years. You will then be in force

always extended for a further five years, unless one of the Contracting

of the parties denounces it in writing at least six months before the expiry of the current

the period of validity.



This agreement may be amended by consent of both parties.



Done at Prague on 10. in 1979, in two originals, each in the language

Czech and English, both texts being equally authentic.
