CONGRESS OF THE REPUBLIC

By means of which Law 85 is partially modified from November 16, 1993.

COLOMBIA CONGRESS

DECRETA:

ARTICLE 1o. Article 1or Act 85, 1993, will be as follows:

Authorize the Assembly of the Department of Santander to order the Emission of the "Pro-Universidad Industrial de Santander" Estampilla, whose production will be used as follows: seventy-five percent (75%) will be for the Universidad Industrial de Santander, ten percent (10%) for the University of Peace and the remaining fifteen percent (15%) will be for the Santander Technology Units.

ARTICLE 2o. Article 2or Act 85, 1993, will be as follows:

The seventy-five percent (75%) of what is dealt with in article 1or this law, will be distributed as follows: thirty percent (30%) will be invested in maintenance or extensions of the current physical plant, purchase of laboratory equipment and equipment, library endowment; twenty per cent (20%) for the allocation and adequacy of the Guatiguara physical plant, Piedecuesta, which will be used for the establishment of research centres and programmes of undergraduate, graduate and doctorate; thirty per cent (30%) to establish the programme Regionalization of the Industrial University of Santander in the province of Santander; ten percent (10%) for the acquisition of basic texts and periodicals in accordance with the priorities established by the Superior Council of the Universidad Industrial de Santander and the remaining ten percent (10%) will go to specific programs that tend to raise the scientific level of the University.

ARTICLE 3o. Article 3or Act 85 of 1993 will remain so:

The remaining percentage of what is dealt with by article 1or this law, that is, ten percent (10%) corresponding to the University of Peace in Barrancabermeja and 15% (15%) corresponding to The Technical Units of Santander in Bucaramanga, will be distributed as follows: forty percent (40%) for the maintenance, expansion and improvement of the current physical plant; another thirty percent (30%) for endowment and purchase of equipment necessary to implement the research and the remaining thirty percent (30%) invest according to the priorities established by the Board of each entity.

ARTICLE 4. Article 4or Act 85, 1993, will be as follows:

The issuance of the Pro-Industrial University of Santander, whose creation is authorized, will be up to the sum of two hundred billion pesos. The total amount raised is set at constant 2007 prices.

ARTICLE 5o. This law governs from the date of its enactment and repeals all rules that are contrary to it.
