DECREE NO 8,047, OF July 11, 2013

Promulga the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty in Criminal Matters between the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Government of the United Kingdom of the Britain and Northern Ireland, struck in London, on April 7, 2005.

THE CHAIRWOMAN OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the attribution that confers it on art. 84, caput, inciso IV, of the Constitution, and

Whereas the Federative Republic of Brazil and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland firmed, in London on April 7, 2005, the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters;

Considering that the National Congress passed the Treaty through Legislative Decree No. 370, of December 21, 2007; and

Considering that the Treaty entered into force for the Federative Republic of Brazil, in the external legal plan, on April 13, 2011, pursuant to paragraph 2º of its Article 28;

D E C R E T A:

Art. 1º It is promulgated the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, signed in London, on April 7, 2005, annex to this Decree.

Art. 2º Are subject to the approval of the National Congress acts that may result in revision of the Treaty and supplementary adjustments that entail gravy charges or commitments to the national heritage, pursuant to the inciso I of the caput of the art. 49 of the Constitution.

Art. 3º This Decree comes into force on the date of its publication.
