DECREE of 2 AUGUST 2001.
Revokes the authorisation granted to Banco Santander S.A. for business operation in the country.
The PRESIDENT of the REPUBLIC, in the use of the powers conferred. 84, section IV, of the Constitution, and in view of the provisions of art. 52, sole paragraph, of the Act of the Transitional constitutional provisions, DECREES: Art. 1st Is revoked the authorization granted to Banco Santander S.A. for business operation in Brazil.
Art. 2 the Central Bank of Brazil will adopt the measures necessary for the implementation of the provisions of this Decree.
Art. 3 this Decree shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
Art. 4 Repeals the Decree of 14 December 1994, which authorized the Banco Santander S.A. to operate business in the country.
