17 NOVEMBER 2006. - An Act to amend the Consumer Health Protection Act of 24 January 1977 with respect to food and other products (1)



ALBERT II, King of the Belgians,
To all, present and to come, Hi.
The Chambers adopted and We sanction the following:
Article 1er. This Act regulates a matter referred to in Article 78 of the Constitution.
Art. 2. In the Act of 24 January 1977 on the Protection of Consumer Health with regard to food and other products, an article 7bis is inserted, which reads as follows:
"Art. 7bis. § 1er. Without prejudice to the application of the provisions of Article 7, the King may approve, in whole or in part, the agreements concluded between the associations referred to in § 3 of this Article if their purpose is to encourage reasonable consumption of beverages containing alcohol.
§ 2. The provisions of the conventions approved by the King are published in the Belgian Monitor.
§ 3. The conventions referred to in § 1er must at least be concluded with:
1. two professional associations representing at least 80% of Belgian alcohol-containing beverage producers;
2. two associations representing the interests of consumers;
3. two professional associations representing the Horeca sector and represented in the Joint Commission of the hospitality industry established under the collective labour agreement No. 58954/CO/302 of 27 August 2001. »
Promulgate this law, order that it be clothed with the seal of the State and published by the Belgian Monitor.
