ALBERT II, King of the Belgians,
To all, present and to come, Hi.
The Chambers adopted and We sanction the following:
Article 1er. This Act regulates a matter referred to in Article 78 of the Constitution.
Art. 2. For the purposes of this Act:
1. Higher education: higher education as organized or subsidized by each competent authority;
2. University: an institution providing, within the framework of higher education, academic education as organized by each competent authority.
Art. 3. By derogation from Article 1erbis of the laws on the collation of academic grades and the program of university exams, coordinated on December 31, 1949, a Bachelor's degree in medicine can be obtained, within the framework of higher education, after the completion and validation of a course with a total of 3 years of studies conducted at a university or under the supervision of a university.
Art. 4. By derogation from Article 1erbis of the above-mentioned laws, a Master's degree in medicine can be obtained, as part of higher education, after obtaining a Bachelor's degree in medicine as well as the completion and validation of a course with a total of 3 years of university or university education.
Art. 5. This Act comes into force during the academic year 2012-2013. It applies for the first time to students enrolled in the first year of the Bachelor's degree in the 2012-2013 academic year.
Promulgation of this law, let us order that it be clothed with the seal of the State and published by the Belgian Monitor.
