27 NOVEMBER 2013. - An Act to fix the Civil List for the duration of King Philip's reign (1)



PHILIPPE, King of the Belgians,
To all, present and to come, Hi.
The Chambers adopted and We sanction the following:
Article 1er. This Act regulates a matter referred to in Article 78 of the Constitution.
Art. 2. The Civil List is set at 11.554,000 euros for the period of His Majesty King Philip.
The Civil List is payable by quarter and advance, as per the provisions of this Act.
Art. 3. The amount set out in section 2 changes from 1er August 2013 in the same way as that provided for in the Act of 2 August 1971 organizing a linkage regime to the index of prices to the consumption of salaries, wages, pensions, allowances and subsidies to the public treasury, certain social benefits, the limits of remuneration to be taken into account in calculating certain social security contributions of workers, as well as the obligations imposed in social matters to independent workers.
Art. 4. The amount set out in Article 2 is revalued every three years from 2014 on the basis of the evolution of the actual salaries of the federal state's general administration services and increases in employers' contributions to social security.
Art. 5. It may be made available to His Majesty King Philip up to thirty-five agents of the State or members of the special bodies. All staff costs that exceed this maximum are borne by the Civil List.
Art. 6. The Royal Palace of Brussels and the Royal Castle of Laeken, both belonging to the heritage of the Federal State, are available to the King for the exercise of his high office. The internal maintenance and furnishings are dependent on the Civil List. The Federal State is responsible for the heating costs of the Royal Palace in Brussels.
Art. 7. The title of the law of May 7, 2000 assigning an annual endowment to His Royal Highness Prince Philippe, an annual endowment to His Royal Highness Princess Astrid and an annual endowment to His Royal Highness Prince Laurent, as amended by the law of November 13, 2001, is replaced by the following: "Act of May 7, 2000 assigning an annual endowment to His Royal Highness the Princess Astrid and an endowment to His Royal Highness.
Art. 8. Section 2 of the Act is repealed.
Art. 9. In section 5 of the Act, replaced by the Act of 22 December 2008, the words "articles 2, 3 and 3 bis" are replaced by the words "articles 3 and 3 bis".
Promulgation of this law, let us order that it be clothed with the seal of the State and published by the Belgian Monitor.
