4 AVRIL 2014. - An Act to amend the Act of March 21, 2007 regulating the installation and use of surveillance cameras



PHILIPPE, King of the Belgians,
To all, present and to come, Hi.
The Chambers adopted and We sanction the following:
Article 1er. This Act regulates a matter referred to in Article 78 of the Constitution.
Art. 2. In article 7/1, paragraph 1er, from the Act of 21 March 2007 regulating the installation and use of surveillance cameras, inserted by the law of 12 November 2009, the first sentence is supplemented by the words "as well as for automatic recognition of registration plates".
Art. 3. In section 7/2 of the Act, inserted by the Act of 12 November 2009, the following amendments are made:
1° in § 3, paragraph 2, the words "in the context of large gatherings" are inserted between the words "mobile cameras" and the words ", it notifies";
2° § 3 is supplemented by two paragraphs written as follows:
"When the administrative police officer decides to use mobile surveillance cameras dedicated to automatic recognition of registration plates, he shall notify the Privacy Commission of this decision. A detailed report on the number and location of these mobile surveillance cameras is sent quarterly to the Privacy Commission.
The King, after the advice of the Privacy Commission, defines the form and content of the standard notification form, the form and content of the quarterly report, as well as the modalities of their transmission to the Privacy Commission. ".
Art. 4. This Act comes into force on the day of its publication in the Belgian Monitor.
Promulgation of this law, let us order that it be clothed with the seal of the State and published by the Belgian Monitor.
