The Chambers have adopted and we endorse the following: Article 1. This Act regulates a matter referred to in article 78 of the Constitution.
S.
2 § 1. For the purposes of this Act, "maritime IMO conventions" means the following international acts: 1 ° the 1966 International Convention on load, made lines in London on 5 April 1966;
2 ° the International Convention on the tonnage measurement of Ships 1969, made in London on 23 June 1969;
3 ° the International Convention of safe containers 1972, done at Geneva on 2 December 1972;
4 ° the International Convention of 1973 for the prevention of pollution from ships, made in London on 2 November 1973;
5 ° the International Convention of 1974 for the safeguarding of human life at sea, done at London on 1 November 1974;
6 ° the 1978 Protocol to the International Convention of 1973 for the prevention of pollution from ships, done at London on 17 February 1978;
7 ° the 1978 Protocol to the International Convention for the safety of life at Sea 1974, done at London on 17 February 1978;
8 ° the International Convention on standards of training, sea, issuing patents and Eve, done at London on 7 July 1978;
9 ° the 1988 Protocol to the International Convention on load lines, 1966, made in London on 11 November 1988;
10 ° the 1988 Protocol to the International Convention for the safety of life at Sea 1974, done at London on 11 November 1988;
11 ° the Protocol of 1997, amending the International Convention of 1973 for the prevention of pollution from ships, as amended by the Protocol of 1978 matter, done at London on 26 September 1997;
12 ° the International Convention of 2001 on the control of harmful anti-fouling systems on ships, made in London on 5 October 2001.
§ 2. For the purposes of this Act means "IMO" international maritime organization.
S. 3. by way of derogation from article 8 of the law of May 31, 1961 on the use of languages in legislative matters, presentation, publication and entry into force of legal and regulatory texts, the texts of the technical codes adopted by IMO, to which maritime conventions of the IMO shall reference are published a notice in Dutch and in french in the Moniteur belge mentioning the adoption by IMO of the concerned technical code, without the text of the concerned technical code.
S. 4. by way of derogation from article 8 of the law of May 31, 1961 on the use of languages in legislative matters, presentation, publication and entry into force of legal and regulatory texts the following amendments of the maritime conventions of IMO and the technical codes that the IMO maritime conventions are referenced are published a notice in Dutch and in french in the Moniteur belge , referring to the adoption of the amendment by the IMO and the entry into force of the amendment with respect to the Belgium, without the text of the relevant amendment: 1 ° the amendments adopted on the basis of article 29 of the 1966 International Convention on load, made lines in London on 5 April 1966;
2 ° the amendments adopted on the basis of article 18 of the International Convention on the tonnage measurement of Ships 1969, done at London on 23 June 1969;
3 ° the amendments adopted on the basis of article 9 and 10 of the International Convention of safe containers 1972, done at Geneva on 2 December 1972;
4 ° the amendments adopted on the basis of article 16 of the International Convention of 1973 for the prevention of pollution by ships, made in London on 2 November 1973 and based on the provisions of the 1978 Protocol to the International Convention of 1973 for the prevention of pollution from ships, made in London on 17 February 1978 , and the 1997 Protocol amending the International Convention of 1973 for the prevention of pollution from ships, as amended by the Protocol of 1978 relating, made in London on 26 September 1997, which make reference to this article;
5 ° the amendments adopted on the basis of article VIII of the Convention of 1974 for the safeguarding of human life at sea, done at London on 1 November 1974, and the Protocol of 1978 relating to the International Convention for the safety of life at Sea 1974, done at London on 17 February 1978 , and the Protocol of 1988 relating to the International Convention for the safety of life at Sea 1974, made in London on 11 November 1988, which make reference to this article;
6 ° the amendments adopted on the basis of article XII of the International Convention on standards of training, sea, issuing patents and Eve, made in London on 7 July 1978;
7 ° the amendments adopted on the basis of article VI of the Protocol of 1988 relating to the International Convention on load lines 1966, made in London on 11 November 1988;
8 ° the amendments adopted on the basis of article 16 of the International Convention of 2001 on the control of harmful anti-fouling systems on ships, made in London on 5 October 2001.
S. 5. notice in the Moniteur belge, referred to in articles 3 and 4, specify the mode that the full text of the relevant international standards is accessible.
Promulgate this Act, order that it be under the seal of the State and published by le Moniteur.
