On the occasion of the deposit of the instrument of accession, Serbia and Montenegro made the following statement:

Serbia and Montenegro assume that the mere participation of the Armed Forces of Serbia and Montenegro or their nationals in the planning or execution of operations, exercises or other military activities, if in -to establish a link with the armed forces of States not party to the Convention and which constitute prohibited activities in accordance with the Convention, in no case to support, encouragement or instigation within the meaning of The first subparagraph is lit. c of the Convention.

Furthermore, on 3 April 2002, the United Kingdom extended the scope of the Convention to Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.
