331. Regulation of the Federal Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management on the use of lead-scrap ammunition in hunting for waterfowl

Due to § 17 (1) of the Chemicals Act (ChemG 1996), BGBl. I No 53/1997, as amended by the Federal Law of the Federal Republic of Germany (BGBl). I n ° 88/2009, is being assigned in agreement with the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Youth and Family Affairs and the Federal Minister for Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection:

Target

§ 1. The aim of this Regulation is to reduce the entry of lead into the environment by banning lead-scrap ammunition in the hunt for waterfowl.

Ban

§ 2. (1) The use of lead-scrap ammunition in the hunt for waterfowl is prohibited.

(2) Waterbirds as referred to in paragraph 1 shall be those in the Annex listed birds.

entry into force

§ 3. This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 July 2012.

Information procedure

§ 4. This Regulation shall be complied with in accordance with the provisions of Directive 98 /34/EC laying down the procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations laid down in Directive 83 /189/EEC, OJ L 134, 30.4.1983, p.
