331. Decree of the Federal Minister for agriculture and forestry, environment and water management on the use of lead shot ammunition for hunting water birds

On the basis of § 17 para 1 of the chemicals Act (ChemG 1996), Federal Law Gazette I no. 53/1997, in the version of Federal Law Gazette I is no 88/2009, in agreement with the Federal Minister of economy, family and youth and the Federal Minister of labour, Social Affairs and consumer protection prescribed:


§ 1. This regulation aims at the reduction of the entry of lead into the environment by banning lead shot ammunition for hunting waterfowl.


2. (1) the use of lead shot ammunition for the hunting of waterfowl is prohibited.

(2) water birds referred to in paragraph 1 are the birds listed in the Appendix.

Entry into force

§ 3. This Regulation shall enter into force July 1, 2012.

§ 4. This regulation is in accordance with the provisions of Directive 98/34/EC, with the the information procedure in the field of standards and technical regulations under Directive 83/189/EEC, OJ EC No. L 109 of April 26, 1983, as amended by directives 88/182/EEC and 94/10/EC codified, the Commission notified been (Notifikationsnummer 2010/800/A).
