181. Regulation of the Federal Minister of economy, family and youth on the professional training for the teaching profession painter and coating technician (painter and coating technician-in training regulations)

On the basis of articles 8 and 24 of the vocational training Act (BAG), Federal Law Gazette No. 142/1969, as last amended by Federal Law Gazette I no. 35/2012, is prescribed:

Teaching painter and coating technician

§ 1 (1) of the teaching profession painter and coating technician is decorated with an apprenticeship of three years and following key areas: 1 functional coatings, 2. historic painting technique, 3 decorative painting technique, 4. corrosion protection.

(2) the education system has at least a focal point to provide in addition to the General section. Additional training in individual skills and knowledge of other areas is possible.

(3) the terms in this Regulation include the male and female form each. The teaching profession in the form of the corresponding to the gender of the apprentice (painter and coating technicians or painter and coating engineer) is in the apprenticeship contracts, teaching certificates, apprenticeship completion certificates and pretty.

(4) the focus on training must be noted in the apprenticeship contract by a notice next to the name of the trade. The focus on education is also in the teaching certificate to note in the order and in the apprenticeship completion certificate.

Professional profile

2. painter and coating technician - focus historical painting technique: a) set up and secure construction sites, as well as set up the required scaffolding, ladders, lifts and platforms with particular attention to the preservation of historic character, b) test and evaluate substrates, c) prepare surfaces for further processing E.g. by cleaning, removal of old coatings and repair of damaged areas, d) detection of historical techniques , e) repaired surfaces in accordance with conservation standards, f) establishing or reconstructing historic coatings with historical techniques such as fresco - and Secco painting, g) establishing or reconstructing of ornamental techniques, h) advise customers and collaborate with authorities such as the Federal Office for monuments or restorers, etc.

3. painter and coating technician - emphasis decor painting technique: a) test and evaluate substrates, b) prepare surfaces for further processing E.g. by cleaning, removal of old coatings and repair of damaged areas, c) design and implement adjustments in accordance with artistic requirements, d) tuning and mixing of tones with regard to light and recording-technical requirements, e) painting of imitations of architecture from different eras and cultures, as well as by landscapes in various forms of vegetation , f) making and application of imitation such as from wood, stone, marble, textile, and imitations of metal and cracks and break imitations, g) drawing and manufacture of fonts and ornaments, h) painting by Bühnenhintergründen and walls, i) advised by customers.

§ 4 (1) is the final apprenticeship examination divided into a theoretical and practical exam.

(3) the theoretical test is omitted if the candidate has positively completed the last class of technical vocational school or demonstrated the successful completion of a vocational middle or higher school replacement of the apprenticeship.

(4) the practical examination includes the items of inspection work and consultation.

Theory test

General terms and conditions

(3) the specific steps of the task are manualy or computer-based document. The Audit Commission can make available relevant documentation the candidates on the occasion of the task in hand.

12. (1) effective this regulation with June 1, 2012.

(2) the training requirements for the teaching artist and painter, BGBl. No. 190/1971, as amended by regulation, Federal Law Gazette II No. 177/2005, occur without prejudice to paragraph 4 upon expiry of the 31 May 2012 override.

(3) the examination regulations for the teaching profession painter and painter, BGBl. No. 164/1975, as amended by the Ordinance BGBl. No. 355/1976, is without prejudice to paragraph 4 upon expiry of the 31 May 2020 override.
