181. Regulation of the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Family and Youth on Vocational Training in the Apprenticeship Profession of Painter and Coating Engineer/in (Maler/in and Coating Technology/in-Training Regulations)

On the basis of § § 8 and 24 of the Vocational Training Act (BAG), BGBl. No. 142/1969, as last amended by the Federal Law BGBl. I No 35/2012, shall be arranged:

Teaching profession Painter/in and coating technician

§ 1. (1) The teaching profession painter/in and coating technician is established with a teaching period of three years and the following focuses:

1.		functional coatings,
2.		Historical painting technique,
3.		Decorative technique,
4.		Corrosion protection.

(2) In addition to the general part, the teaching establishment has at least one focal point. Additional training in individual skills and knowledge of other focal points is possible.

(3) The terms chosen in this Regulation shall include the male and female form. In the teaching contracts, teaching certificates, teaching certificates and teaching letters, the teaching profession is to be described in the form corresponding to the sex of the apprentist (painters and coating technicians or painter and coating technician).

(4) In any case, the training of the centre of gravity is to be noted in the apprenticeship contract by means of a corresponding notice in addition to the name of the teaching profession. The focus is also to be noted in the teaching certificate, in the course letter and in the certificate of teaching qualification.

Professional profile

§ 2. Through vocational training in the course of teaching and in the vocational school, the trained apprentice is to acquire general knowledge in all areas of specialization of the teaching profession and be able to carry out the following activities professionally, independently and to be responsible for:

h)			Application of coatings for the purpose of thermal insulation,

2.		Painters and coating technicians/in-focus Historical painting technology:
a)			Setting up and securing of construction sites and setting up the necessary scaffolding, ladders, lifts and working platforms, paying particular attention to the preservation of historical substance,
b)			Check and evaluate the reasons,
c)			Preparation of substrates for further processing by cleaning, removal of old coatings and repair of damage sites,
d)			Recognition of historical work techniques,
e)			Repair of sub-reasons in coordination with monument-nurse requirements,
f)			Manufacture or Reconstruct historical coatings with historical work techniques such as fresco and seccomal works,
g)			Manufacture or Reconstructing ornamentals,
h)			Advising customers as well as collaborating with representatives of authorities such as the Federal Monument Office or restorers, etc.
3.		Painters and coating technicians/in-focus Decorative painting technology:
a)			Check and evaluate the reasons,
b)			Preparation of substrates for further processing by cleaning, removal of old coatings and repair of damage sites,
c)			Develop and implement design work according to artistic requirements,
d)			Coordination and mixing of colour tones with due regard to light and acceptance requirements,
e)			Painting of architectural imitations from different epochs and cultures, as well as landscape representations in different vegetation forms,
f)			Production and application of imitates such as wood, stone, marble, textile, and metal limitations as well as crack and fracture imitations,
g)			Draw and produce typefaces and ornaments,
h)			Painting of stage backgrounds and walls,
i)			Advice from customers.
4.		Painters/in and coating technicians/in-focus corrosion protection:
a)			Set up and secure construction sites as well as the installation of driving, carrying, hanging and jib scaffolding (maintenance, operation) as well as the installation and removal of planning and housing for protection against weather and environmental influences,
b)			Check and evaluate the reasons,
c)			Preparation of substrates for further processing by cleaning, removal of old coatings and repair of damage sites,
d)			Determine damage caused by corrosion, corrosion and corrosion,
e)			Select the corrosion protection measures or the protection and repair procedures;
f)			Carry out corrosion protection measures and apply coatings,
g)			Protection of concrete surfaces with impregnation, coatings and sealings,
h)			Application of special coatings and fire protection coatings,
i)			Advice from customers.

§ 3. (1) The following general part is defined for the training in the teaching profession painters/in and coating technicians. § 4. (1) The final examination shall be divided into a theoretical and practical examination.

Theoretical examination

§ 5. (1) The theoretical examination shall be carried out in writing. It can also be carried out in a computerised form, although all the essential steps for the examination board must be comprehensible.

(2) The theoretical test shall in principle be held prior to the practical examination.

(3) The tasks shall be in accordance with the scope and level of the purpose of the final examination and the requirements of the professional practice. They are to be explained separately to the examination candidate on the occasion of the task.

(4) The written work of the examination candidate shall be marked accordingly.

Specialist

§ 6. (1) The examination shall include the substantive answer to questions from all the following areas:

1.		materials,
2.		Work techniques,
3.		tools and equipment,
4.		Stilkunde,
5.		Special tasks in the field of painting and coating.

(2) The test can also be carried out in programmed form with questionnaires. In this case, ten questions are to be asked from each area.

(3) The tasks shall be carried out in such a way that they can normally be carried out in 60 minutes.

(4) The test shall be terminated after 80 minutes.

Applied mathematics

§ 7. (1) The audit shall include tasks from all the following areas:

1.		Calculation of length and area,
2.		Scale calculation,
3.		Material demand calculation.

(2) The use of calculation orders, formulas and tables is permitted.

(3) The tasks shall be carried out in such a way that they can normally be carried out in 40 minutes.

(4) The test shall be terminated after 60 minutes.

§ 8. (1) The examination shall include the completion of the magnification drawing of a simple jewellery motif which has been submitted.

(3) The individual steps in the execution of the task shall be documented manually or by computer. The Examination Committee may provide the candidate with appropriate documents on the occasion of the task.

(4) The Examination Committee shall, on the basis of the purpose of the examination of the teaching of teaching and the requirements of professional practice and the training of the centre of gravity, have to submit to each examination candidate a task which, as a rule, is carried out in six hours. can be.

§ 10. (1) The expert interview shall be submitted before the entire examination board.

(2) The expert discussion has to be developed from the practical activity. Here, the practical knowledge of the candidate is to be determined by using technical terms. The examination candidate shall present subject-related tasks and their solutions, identify the technical background relevant to the contract and justify the procedure in the performance of the contract.

(3) The purpose of the topic is to correspond to the purpose of the final examination, the requirements of the professional practice and the focus of the examination candidates. In this case, material samples, tools, demonstration objects, working aids or display boards are to be used. Questions on relevant safety regulations, protection measures and accident prevention should be included. The examination is in the form of a conversation that is as lively as possible with a call for discussion by means of the description of situations or problem solutions.

(4) The expert discussion should take 20 minutes for each examination candidate. An extension of not more than ten minutes has to be made in individual cases, if the examination board is not otherwise able to assess the performance of the examination candidate without a doubt.

§ 11. (1) The final examination of the Lehrabate can be repeated.

(2) In the case of the repetition of the examination, only the test items rated "not enough" shall be considered.

Final provisions

§ 12. (1) This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 June 2012.

(2) The training regulations for the teaching profession of painters and livers, BGBl. No. 190/1971, as amended by the Regulation, BGBl. II No 177/2005, without prejudice to paragraph 4, with the expiry of 31 May 2012.

(3) The Examination Regulations for the Teacher and Anstreicher, BGBl. No. 164/1975, as amended by the BGBl Regulation. No 355/1976, without prejudice to paragraph 4, with the expiry of 31 May 2020.

(4) Apprentices who are trained in the teaching profession on 31 May 2012 in the teaching profession are to be trained in accordance with the training regulations referred to in paragraph 2 and can be used until 31 May 2020 in accordance with the examination regulations referred to in paragraph 3 above.
