The instrument of ratification, signed by the Federal President and countersigned by the Federal Chancellor, was signed on 9 May. The Convention shall be deposited with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in October 2013; the Convention shall enter into force in accordance with its Article 57 (2) lit. a for Austria with 1 February 2014 in force.

On the occasion of the deposit of its instrument of ratification, the Republic of Austria has declared the following caveat:

Reservation of the Republic of Austria

The Republic of Austria makes a reservation in accordance with Article 51 paragraph 2 and Article 56 paragraph 1 of the Convention, objecting to the use of the French language.

Reservation of the Republic of Austria

In accordance with Article 51 (2) and Article 56 (1) of the Convention, the Republic of Austria declares its reservation against the use of the French.

In accordance with Art. 28, the Republic of Austria has also designated the Federal Ministry of Justice as the Central Authority.

According to communications from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the following other states have ratified or adopted the Convention: Germany 1 ,

Estonia 1 , Finland, France 1 , Czech Republic 1 , Switzerland, United Kingdom (Scotland only) 1 .
