Declare to the Argentine Olive Oil as National Food. Sanctioned: November 29, 2012 Enacted in Fact: January 8, 2013
The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, meeting in Congress, etc., are sanctioned by law:
ARTICLE 1-Declare the Argentine Olive Oil as National Food.
ARTICLE 2-Argentine Olive Oil is defined in the industrialized Republic in the Argentine Republic, using only as raw material olives that are wholly harvested in Argentine territory, the composition of which is in accordance with the Article 535 of the National Food Code, Law 18,284 and additional rules and those that are to be issued in the future.
ARTICLE 3-The Executive Branch must promote the Argentine Olive Oil in all events and cultural, social or sports activities of an official nature or that are foreseen in the national official agendas. In any event, the presence of the expression, image and isologist of the Argentine Olive Oil National Food and the promotion of this food and its traditions should be foreseen. This promotion aims to increase the domestic consumption of the Argentine Olive Oil, to guide its incorporation to the usual food basket of the Argentines and to highlight and strengthen the nutritional and other properties Argentine Olive Oil spreads.
