Initial education. Law N ° 26,206. Amendment. Sanctioned: December 03, 2014 Enacted in Fact: December 23, 2014

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, meeting in Congress, etc., are sanctioned by law:

Article 1-Compulsory education for children of four (4) years in the national education system.

ARTICLE 2-Substitute Article 16 of the National Education Act 26.206, which shall be worded as follows:

Article 16: School enforcement across the country extends from the age of four (4) years to the completion of the level of secondary education. The Ministry of Education and the competent judicial authorities shall ensure compliance with the obligation of school through institutional, pedagogical and rights-promoting alternatives that meet the requirements of the local and community, urban and rural, by means of actions that allow to achieve results of equivalent quality throughout the country and in all social situations.

ARTICLE 3-Substitute Article 18 of Law 26.206, which shall be worded as follows:

Article 18: Initial education is a pedagogical unit and includes children from the age of forty-five (45) days to five (5) years of age inclusive, the two (2) years being compulsory.

ARTICLE 4-Substitute Article 19 of Law 26.206, which shall be worded as follows:

Article 19: The National State, the provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires have the obligation to universalize educational services for children of three (3) years of age, prioritizing the educational care of the least developed sectors. The people's advantage.
