Law 27425

Amendment. Law No 24,449.

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, meeting in Congress, etc.

Law:

ARTICLE 1.-Substitute Article 30 (b) of Law 24,449, by the following:

(b) Paragolas and fenders or bodywork which complies with such functions. The exception of tractor vehicles is the obligation to incorporate rear parking. The regulations will establish the uniformity of the dimensions and heights of the paragolpes.

Article 2.-Substitute the points (a) and (c) of Article 31 of Law 24,449, for the following:

a) Strikers: of white or yellow light in no more than two pairs, with high and low, is of asymmetric or symmetrical projection;

c) Turn lights: flashing yellow in front and back. In the case of imported vehicles which comply with the respective American standards, the rear turning lamp may be red. For vehicles indicated by the regulations, other vehicles shall be taken to the sides.

Article 3.-Substitute points (a) and (c) of Article 32 of Law 24,449, for the following:

(a) articulated or coupled trucks: three lamps in the upper, white and red rear central part;

(c) Passenger transport vehicles: four white or yellow lamps on the front and one red on the rear, all connected to the statutory lamps. Vehicles of category M2 with a total gross weight of less than seven (7) tonnes are exempted from this requirement.

ARTICLE 4.-Substitute Article 47 of Law 24,449, by the following:

Article 47: Use of the lamps. On the public road vehicles must comply with the provisions of Articles 31 and 32 and turn on their lamps by observing the following rules:

a) Low lights or daytime lights (DRL system: Day Time Running Light): while the vehicle is transiting through national routes, low lights or daytime lights will remain on, both day and night, regardless of the degree of light natural, or of the conditions of visibility which are recorded, except where the discharge is due and in railway crossings;

(b) High light: its compulsory use only in rural areas and motorways provided that natural light is insufficient or the conditions of visibility or transit claim it;

(c) Low, position and patent-plate lights: must be used when natural light is insufficient or the conditions of visibility or transit demand it;

(d) Destello: must be used in road crossings and for warning of overpasses;

(e) intermittent emergency lights: must be used to indicate detention at toll stations, hazardous areas or in the execution of risky manoeuvres;

(f) Rompenitmists, backsliding, brake, spin and additional lights: they must be used only for their own purposes;

(g) the emergency brake, turn, recoil or intermittent lamps must be lit according to their own purposes, even if the natural light is sufficient;

(h) As soon as this law is in force, manufacturers and importers shall, in the form and time limits laid down by the rules, incorporate new models, a device which automatically allows the ignition of the vehicle, to the vehicles 0 km the low lights or the daytime lamps (DRL system), at the moment when the engine of the same is put in place, in accordance with paragraph (a) above.

ARTICLE 5.-The provisions of this law shall apply from the day following that of their publication in the Official Gazette.

ARTICLE 6.-As of the validity of this law, the law shall be abrogated 25,456.

ARTICLE 7 °.-Commune to the national executive branch.

GIVEN IN THE SESSION HALL OF THE ARGENTINE CONGRESS, IN BUENOS AIRES, AT THE THIRTY DAYS OF THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER OF THE YEAR TWO THOUSAND SEVENTEEN.
