ADOPTION OF A PARAGUAY TREATMENT UNION ADUANERA.
BUENOS AIRES, March 3, 1944
ARTICLE 1. - Approve the Argentine- Paraguayan agreement signed in Buenos Aires on December 15, 1943, establishing the procedure for concluding the customs union with the Republic of Paraguay.
ARTICLE 2. - In order to integrate in representation of the Argentine government the joint commission referred to in paragraph (1) of the aforementioned agreement, Dr. Juan Carlos Solá, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance Major Don Juan Carlos Lorio, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture sent extraordinary and Minister plenipotentiary, Dr. Carlos L. Torriani, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship Doctor Ovidio V.
Schiopetto, Director General of Commerce of the Ministry of Agriculture Consul General Dr. Alberto A. Bonfante, Director of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Carlos Coll Benegas, head of the Department of Economic Research of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic.
ARTICLE 3. - In accordance with paragraph (2) of that agreement, please decide to integrate the national commission to study the different aspects of the customs union in the project and the complementary measures that tend to facilitate and accelerate the merger of the economies of the two countries, in addition to the Argentine members of the joint commission cited in article 2 of this decree, to: Dr. Eduardo Carbajales, director of commercial policy of the Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Juan Scarpati Arrarás Vergara, deputy director of supply of the Ministry of Agriculture, don Atilio Furmento, deputy director of the General Directorate of Statistics of the Nation don Nicolás Orestes V. Cuccarese, head of the division of customs and ports of the Ministry of Finance Dr. José R. Pereyra Iraola, representing the Argentine Rural Society Don Ernesto L.
Herbin, on behalf of the Argentine Industrial Union Don Alejandro Menéndez Behety, on behalf of the Trade Exchange and Dr. Benjamín Zubiaur, on behalf of consumers.
ARTICLE 4. The commission referred to in article 3 shall be based in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, and for the performance of the functions entrusted to it may be addressed directly to the national, provincial and municipal authorities and departments and private entities.
