DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN Law 26.486 Adopt the Amendment to Article 20, paragraph 1, of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. Sanctioned: March 11, 2009. Enacted: April 1, 2009.

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation assembled in Congress, etc. sanction with force of Law:

ARTICLE 1 Approve the Amendment to article 20, paragraph 1, of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, adopted at the Eighth Meeting of States Parties on 22 May 1995, the authenticated photocopy of which is part of this Act. ARTICLE 2 Contact the national executive branch.

IN THE SESSION OF THE ARGENTINE CONGRESS, IN GOOD AIRES, TO THE ONCE DAYS OF THE MARCH OF THE YEAR DOS MIL NEW.

Amendment to article 20, paragraph 1, of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women adopted at the eighth meeting of States parties on 22 May 1995

1. Decides to replace article 20, paragraph 1, of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women with the following text:

"The Committee shall normally meet annually to consider reports submitted to it in accordance with article 18 of the present Convention. The duration of the meetings of the Committee shall be determined by a meeting of States parties to this Convention, and shall be subject to the approval of the General Assembly. "

2. Recommend that the General Assembly, at its fiftieth session, take note with approval of the revision;

3. They decide that the review shall enter into force after it has been considered by the General Assembly and accepted by a two-thirds majority of States parties that have so notified the Secretary-General as depositary of the Convention.
