The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation assembled in Congress, etc. sanction with force of Law:
ARTICLE 1 Dispose the construction of a monument in tribute to the memory of the crossing of the Andes, to be located in the province of San Juan. ARTICLE 2 The national executive branch will agree with the government of the province of San Juan the determination of the public space that it will yield to the site of the monument mentioned in Article 1 of this Law. Article 3 The authority for the application of this law is the Ministry of Culture of the Nation, dependent on the national executive branch, which will call for public competition to Argentine sculptors to select the project of design and construction of the monument mentioned in article 1 of this law. ARTICLE 4 For the purposes established by this Act, the enforcement authority shall convene a jury for the purpose of evaluating and selecting the projects to be submitted. ARTICLE 5o The members of the jury established by article 4 of this Act shall not receive any remuneration. ARTICLE 6 The construction of the monument established by this law shall be completed by 25 May 2010, the date of inauguration of the work, in the framework of the celebrations for the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the May Revolution. ARTICLE 7 The monument which is established by this law will have a plaque with the following inscription: "This monument recovers the original project of the Congress of the Nation, which during the centenary of the Revolution and Independence, proposed to pay tribute to the passage of the Andes, symbol of the prominence of St.John in the liberating gestation. ARTICLE 8 Expenditures for compliance with this Act shall be charged to the budget of the national administration, in the year following the year of entry into force of this Act and in the future, in accordance with the physical progress of the relevant works and until its conclusion. Article 9 This law shall enter into force on the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Nation. ARTICLE 10.
