CONVENTIONS Law 25.490 Adopt a Convention on Cultural and Educational Cooperation signed with the Republic of Albania.

Sanctioned: October 24, 2001.

Cast: November 19, 2001.

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation assembled in Congress, etc. sanction with force of Law:

ARTICLE 1 Appropriate the Convention on CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION AGAINST THE ARGENTINA REPUBLIC AND THE REPUBLIC DE ALBANIA, signed in Buenos Aires on May 11, 2000, which consists of TEN (10) articles, whose authenticated photocopy is part of this law. ARTICLE 2 Contact the national executive branch.

IN THE SESSION OF THE ARGENTINE CONGRESS, IN GOOD AIRES, TO THE VEINTICUATRO DIAS OF THE MONTH OF OCTOBER OF DOS MIL UNO.

CONVENTION OF CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION ARGENTINA REPUBLIC AND ALBANIA REPUBLIC

The Argentine Republic and the Republic of Albania, henceforth "the Parties";

With the desire to expand their relations in the field of culture and education;

Convinced that cooperation in these fields will strengthen the ties between the two;

Remember:

Article 1

The Parties shall promote cultural and educational cooperation and exchange through their respective institutions.

Article 2

1. Parties shall promote the exchange of persons engaged in activities under this Convention.

2. Each Party shall also encourage the participation of experts in the fields of culture and education at the relevant conferences in the other Party.

Article 3

The Parties shall facilitate the exchange of:

; information and material related to the culture and education of each;

; books, newspapers, magazines and publications on the fields covered by this Convention;

. educational and cultural audiovisual material, without commercial value.

Article 4

Each Party shall promote in its territory the organization of art exhibitions, concerts, theatre shows and other cultural activities sponsored by the other Party.

Article 5

The Parties shall encourage the translation and editing of literary and artistic works by national authors of each of them.

Article 6

Each Party shall encourage the study of the language, literature and culture of the other in universities and other educational and research centres.

Article 7

Each Party shall promote the award of scholarships for study and further development to the nationals of the other, to continue studies at the universities and educational and research centres of each of them.

Article 8

The Parties will support direct cooperation between their news agencies, graphic information systems and radio and television companies.

Article 9

In order to comply with this Convention, the Parties shall, by diplomatic means, agree on specific executive programmes that shall contain the activities to be developed and the financial conditions for their implementation.

Article 10

1. This Convention shall be subject to ratification and shall enter into force on the date of exchange of the respective instruments of ratification.

2. It shall have a duration of five (5) years, automatically extended for equal periods and may be denounced by either Party by diplomatic means, with at least six (6) months in advance of the expiration of each period.

Made in the city of Buenos Aires on May 11, 2000, in two originals in Spanish and Albanian language, both texts being equally authentic.
