Sanctioned: June 27, 2012 Promulgated: July 25, 2012 The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation assembled in Congress, etc. sanction with force of Law:
ARTICLE 1 — Instituting the 24th of August of each year as “Day of the Reader”, in commemoration and homage to the day of the birth of the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges.
ARTICLE 2 — To entrust to the National Executive the realization on that date of acts of dissemination of reading and recognition to the work and trajectory of Borges, as an inescapable figure of national and universal literature.
ARTICLE 3o — Invite the provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires to adhere to this law.
ARTICLE 4o — Contact the National Executive.
