DECREE No. 02/2004/ND-CP of January 2, 2004 on the adjustment of administrative boundaries of Muong Lay rural district and Lai Chau provincial town, Dien Bien province

After the transfer of Le Loi ward of Lai Chau provincial town, Pu Dao and Chan Nua communes of Muong Lay rural district, Thanh Chu hamlet with 813 ha and 328 people of Xa Tong commune (Muong Lay rural district), to Lai Chau province, Muong Lay rural district shall be left with 182,552 ha and 42,864 people with 11 dependent administrative units, including 10 communes and Muong Lay township.

Lai Chau provincial town shall be left with 5,236 ha and 9,279 people with 2 dependent wards of Na Lay and Song Da.

Dien Bien province shall have 955,409.7 ha and 440,300 people with 8 dependent administrative units, including 6 rural districts, Lai Chau provincial town and Dien Bien Phu city.

This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette, annulling all previous regulations contrary hereto.- (Summary)
