      STATUTORY

AUTHORITY: KRS 156.070, 160.290

      NECESSITY,

FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY: KRS 156.031 requires that administrative regulations

relating to statutes amended by the 1990 Kentucky Education Reform Act be

reviewed, amended if necessary and resubmitted to the Legislative Research

Commission prior to December 30, 1990; and KRS 160.293 allows for the development

of school property recreational facilities for school and community purposes,

in conjunction with another public agency. This administrative regulation

implements the latter statute and provides for school and community recreational

facilities.

 

      Section 1. Local

boards of education shall be authorized to cooperate with a public agency for

the purpose of developing and maintaining recreational facilities on school

property.

 

      Section 2. A

copy of a proposed agreement shall be submitted to the chief state school

officer for approval.

 

      Section 3. All

plans and specifications for facilities to be erected shall be in accord with

State Board for Elementary and Secondary Education administrative regulations.
