   § 23-1-8  Forensic Scientist – Crime

detection. –

The director of health shall appoint in accordance with law a suitable and

qualified forensic scientist to conduct examinations of evidence in connection

with scientific crime detection, and for that purpose the director shall

cooperate with the Rhode Island state police, the department of the attorney

general, and other law enforcement agencies in the matter of scientific crime

detection.
