   § 46-2-9  Condemnation by cities and towns

– Appropriations and borrowing. –

In order to carry out the intent of §§ 46-2-7 – 46-2-11 any city

or town is authorized to acquire by condemnation any land, easements, or

rights-of-way required for the improvement or protection project, and any city

or town is authorized to make appropriations and to expend funds, in the manner

provided by law, for the improvement or protection project, and to issue bonds

or other evidences of debt, subject to statutory limitation, for the

improvement or protection project.
