The Secretary of State for the Environment and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly in relation to England and Wales in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(5) of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970(1), hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) (The Julie Rose Stadium) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st November 1996.

Designation of public body

2.  The Julie Rose Stadium, being a person appearing to the Secretary of State to be exercising functions of a public nature, shall be a public body for the purposes of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
Article 2 of this Order designates the Julie Rose Stadium under the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970.
The effect of the designation is to allow a local authority to provide goods and services to the designated body.
