The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 75(2) of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 (Commencement No.13) (Amendment) Order 1996.

(2) In this Order “the thirteenth commencement order” means the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 (Commencement No.13) Order 1996(2).

Amendment of thirteenth commencement order

2.  In article 3 of and in the headnote to the Schedule to the thirteenth commencement order for the words “5th December 1996” there shall be substituted the words “1st March 1997”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 (Commencement No.13) Order 1996 (“the thirteenth commencement order”) by substituting the words “1st March 1997” for the words “5th December 1996” in article 3 of and in the headnote to the Schedule to the thirteenth commencement order.
The effect of this is that the provisions of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 which are specified in column 1 of the Schedule to the thirteenth commencement order, and described by reference to the subject matter in column 2 of that Schedule will now come into force on 1st March 1997.
