RATING AND VALUATION
The Valuation Roll and Valuation Notice (Scotland) Amendment Order 1995

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3(2), 35(2) and 37(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1975(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Valuation Roll and Valuation Notice (Scotland) Amendment Order 1995 and shall come into force on 7th March 1995.

Amendment of Order

2.  In the Schedule to the Valuation Roll and Valuation Notice (Scotland) Order 1989(2)—

(a)for the words “35 days” in both places where they appear, there shall be substituted the words “70 days”; and

(b)for the words “21 days”, there shall be substituted the words “14 days”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Valuation Roll and Valuation Notice (Scotland) Order 1989 which prescribes the form of the valuation roll and of valuation notices issued by assessors. Article 2 makes amendments in the prescribed form for valuation notices in light of changes in the timetable for appeal procedures being made by the Valuation Appeal Committee (Procedure in Appeals under the Valuation Acts) (Scotland) Regulations 1995 (S.I. 1995/572).
