The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of powers conferred by section 1(2)(i) of the Vaccine Damage Payments Act 1979(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Vaccine Damage Payments (Specified Disease) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 31st May 1995.

Addition to the diseases to which the Vaccine Damage Payments Act applies

2.  Haemophilus influenzae type b infection is specified as a disease to which the Vaccine Damage Payments Act 1979 applies.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order adds Haemophilus influenzae type b infection (Hib) to the list of diseases in respect of which payments can be made under the Vaccine Damage Payments Act 1979.
This Order does not impose any costs on business.
